Grief and Joy

Acts 9:39-41---Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Life is a mixture of grief and joy. There are years and seasons when joy abounds. There are also times of grief when grief seems to never end. In our times of joy, we have a wonderful Lord and Savior who brings us the twinkling stars and shining moon. In our times of grief, we have a wonderful Lord and Savior who helps us remember the twinkling stars and shining moon. During our times of grief, our Lord reminds us how our future can be full of eternal days of peace and happiness. As we draw close to God when we are hurting, He fills our hurting hearts with peace, understanding, and love not found on earth. Even when we are at the end of the road and we cannot move forward anymore, God is a powerful God who makes new pathways and new roadways for us to travel. When we think we will never laugh again, there is the trickle of His love helping us to live, laugh, and absorb His infinite beauty.
