Jeremiah 29:11---For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
There was
only one person alive on the small island. He prayed every day asking God to send
someone to rescue him. Every day he looked around for God's help but he
couldn't find it. Tired of waiting, he made a shelter to protect himself and
protect his few possessions. But then one day, after looking for food, he came
back to find his little shelter on fire. The worse thing was that everything he
owned was burned. He was confused and mad at God. He asked God, "why did
you do this to me?" and he fell asleep over the sand. Early the next
morning, he heard the sound of a boat that came close to the island. They were
rescuers. He asked them how they knew he was there. The rescuers said to him
that they saw the smoke signals he made. It's easy to get mad at things when
they go wrong, but we shouldn't lose our hearts, because God is working in our lives.
Remember, the next time your small house is on fire, it might simply be a smoke
signal that comes from God. For every negative thing that happens to us, we
should tell ourselves, "God has a positive answer to this".
