Encouragement For Today Rays Of Hope ✝️ Encouragement From John 10

Fear And Anxiety

Find Out What Others Want And Help Them Get It

Within the bounds of morality and common sense, the key to success when you work with people is helping them get what they want. Find out what others want and show others how working or cooperating with you benefits them. To help others get what they want, you have to think as they do, ask them questions, and see the world the way they see the world. To be successful with others or to lead others you have to put yourself in their shoes. When you are selfish and filled with your ego, you think only of yourself instead of others. Truly, being unselfish is the key to success in every area of life, especially when working with others. When others find out you do want to help them get what they want, they will regard you with esteem and they will value you. Admittedly, others will be selfish. However, by finding out what others want and helping them get it you have great potential in leading them. Most often, leadership failures occur because of selfishness. Good leaders are typically unselfish people.

Faith That Pleases God

Fanning the Flame of God's Gifts

2 Timothy 1:6---Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

God has endowed each of us with special gifts. We do not always know what God has given us in terms of His special gifts to us. We may be unaware of His gifts for many years. Many people are never truly aware of God's special gifts to them. We are to use God's special gifts for His glory. We are to use His special gifts to us by giving His gifts away in whatever way we can. We are to maximize His gifts to us by fanning the flames of His gifts. We are to burn with fire to use His gifts in as many ways and as many places as possible. In doing God's work and using His gifts, we are not to be timid about our activity. We are to live and use His gifts with a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. We are not to be ashamed of the gifts God has given us but we are to be bold about how He has blessed us and cared for us.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ Faith For Life

Faith And Hope

When things go bad, when everything comes unglued and we are facing incredible adversity, our adversity can make it seem as if we are sitting in darkness. In adversity, we can lose hope. In adversity, we do not know where to look for hope because we cannot see anything in our life or see anything in our future giving us hope. A resounding faith in God, living faith in God, active faith in God, and positive faith in a positive God gives us hope. Our faith in God gives us the Light at the end of the tunnel. Our living faith tells us our suffering is only temporary. Relatively speaking, in the span of all the time of the past, and in the span of all the time to exist in the future, our suffering on this earth lasts only a fraction of a second. Christian's believe beyond any doubt we will spend eternity in heaven where there is no suffering, no pain, and no adversity…all while we live in God's bliss of love where time is no more. Our faith in God and our belief in His eternity for us indeed make us stronger on the inside and full of hope even when our outside circumstances look hopeless.

Encouragement From Zachariah 4

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ Facing Forward

Faith and Courage

Having faith requires courage. Sometimes in our lives, walking in the dark takes courage. Sometimes we need the courage to travel on paths we have not trod before. In our life, we need the courage to act in situations where there is no earthly possibility of an action being taken. Sometimes we need the courage to yield everything to God when we want to keep everything to ourselves. In Hebrews, the apostle Paul talks about the life of faith, and Paul tells us in Hebrews 11:13 the Old Testament patriarchs lived by faith. All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.  Living by faith takes a form of courage because when we live by faith we extend ourselves outward by trusting in God. Living by faith is what we must do. We live by breathing and in the same way, we must courageously live by faith because faith keeps us alive in our spirit. We live by eating food and drinking water and in the same way, we must courageously live by faith because our faith gives our spiritual nourishment. We live by residing or seeking shelter and in the same way, we must courageously live by faith because our faith shelters us from the storms of life.

ENCOURAGEMENT FROM ROMANS 8 VERSE 11

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ When Faced With Change

Executing The Same Successful Efforts

When you are successful, keep repeating your successful efforts. As extraordinary as it seems, many people behave as if they cannot stand success. Many people do not repeat successful efforts. Instead of repeating successful efforts, many people want to continually try out new approaches rather than repeating successful efforts. There is a problem with trying out new approaches when a successful approach is already in place. Common sense should dictate we should always keep doing what is already successful. However, common sense does not always rule.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ Don’t Act Like You Are Humble

Entertaining Strangers

Hebrews 13:2---Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Things are not always what they seem. People are not always who or what they appear to be. Look at this verse from a common-sense perspective. If God was going to send an angel into the world to do a special work…would God use an angel with wings and feathers or would God send an angel in the form of an ordinary person? To keep down undue attention, God would use the form of an ordinary person as an angelic disguise. From this verse, people you pass on the street, the person you stand in line with at the store, maybe even the stranger you sit next to in church, could be an angel. However, this verse is not about angels but about how we treat strangers. For many reasons, people we do not personally know need our care, concern, love, and attention. Strangers and others need to be enriched by us.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ Does This Make You Uncomfortable?

Difficulties With Man's Will

What are the difficulties of going our way? Going our way means there is no upward direction except in the eyes of others. Going our way means there is no eternal hope for our life. Besides, any hope we carry within us is something we have to generate on our own. Going our way means we will experience suffering and pain without purpose. If by chance, we discover a purpose to our pain and suffering, the purpose is a purpose we must assign rather than a purpose assigned by God. Besides, going our way means we will carry within us emptiness and darkness. Persons who are self-consumed and self-absorbed drink alcohol and use drugs to ease the pain of the emptiness and darkness. When we go our way instead of God's way there is an inner gnawing making us feel the need to run and run and run to get away from being eaten up by our darkness.

Having Compassion And Making A Difference—Jude 17-25

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ Do Not Stir Up Your Opponent

Did Jesus Come out Of The Grave?

“He is not here: for He has risen.” Matthew 28:6

Matthew 28:13-15--- And when they were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept. And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

It is a disturbing truth that Jesus Christ came out of the grave. You just can’t be neutral about the resurrection. If you are a thinking person, you’re going to have to face the fact of the resurrection. Either it is true or it is not true. Either He came out of that grave or He did not. Now, which side are you on? You can’t just ball it all up like a crumpled piece of paper and say, “It doesn’t make any difference. Let’s just put our arms around everybody. We all believe the same thing.” No, no, no! When you take a stand for truth, you’re going to have a head-on collision with the darkness that doesn’t want the light shining in! Even after the Resurrection, the religious leaders of that day paid people to lie and say that the disciples came and stole the Lord's Body. According to the historical record, after Jesus’ death on the cross and his subsequent burial in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, he appeared alive to more than 500 people, on twelve (12) separate occasions. All but one of the appearances (the appearance to Paul aka Saul) occurred within the first 40 day period following Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. Jesus also appeared to at least two skeptics, James the Just and Paul aka Saul.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope✝️ Devoted To God

Devastation And The Light Of God

No matter how devastating adversity is when we truly love the Light of God, the Light of God shines in our darkness. The Light of God can put the desire of our hearts in a proper perspective. When we can see ourselves and see our world with the Light of God shining within us, we see devastation and darkness in His Light. When we have the Light of God shining within us, we would rather do what the Light desires of us, even in our moments of darkness. The pain of our darkness and devastation, no matter the cause, is fed by the darkness, and when the Light of God is brought into the darkness, the darkness disappears. The darkness does not fill the emptiness in our soul. The darkness only stirs up a pain-filled hunger and thirst in our soul to such an extent we will often do anything to take away the pain. However, the Light of God fills our emptiness and takes away the devastation in our soul with peace and contentment beyond our understanding.

DEAD CHRISTIANS

For reasons no one may ever know, a woman, who enjoyed a lively form of worship, went one Sunday to a very staid and formal church. As the preacher reached the end of his first prayer, she said quietly but firmly, "Amen, Lord. Amen." A deacon who was in the same pew leaned over his wife's lap, and whispered, "Lady, please try to control yourself! We don't allow that kind of thing in this church!" However, no sooner had the next hymn come to a close, when the woman shouted, "Amen! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!" The deacon quickly leaned over his wife's lap again. "Lady!" he hissed, "You must quiet down immediately or LEAVE!" "Oh, I didn't mean to DISTURB," said the woman, "but I'm just so HAPPY since I found the LORD!" "Well, you may have found the Lord," hissed the deacon, "but I am quite certain you did not find Him HERE!"

Controlling How You Live

Although we do not control where or when we die, we can control how we live and what adversity in life does to us in the meantime. The idea of taking charge, of taking on life rather than letting life take on us, is not so revolutionary an idea on the surface. However, the idea IS revolutionary underneath. The idea of controlling our life is revolutionary when we take charge of our heart, our mind, and our soul. For many of us, our life seems to be controlled by powers and forces beyond our control. We do not control our aging. We do not control some of the issues we face in our health, in our relationships, in our finances, or any of the other aspects of our life. However, if we want to do so, we can control how we respond to what we face in life. We can control whether we respond with despair or with hope. We can control whether we respond with weakness or power. We may not control many of the exterior circumstances of our life. We can control our interior circumstances. We always have a choice in controlling our life. We always have a choice every minute over how we will and can respond to every circumstance.

Comfort and Rest

Matthew 11:28---Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

We all need comfort and rest. We all get tired. We all get burned out. We all get used up. In every aspect of our physical life, we need a time of comfort and rest. In our physical world, finding real comfort and rest is difficult to do. No matter what we do, where we go, or how we attempt to find comfort and rest, our old physical problems, issues, and pains can remain with us. However, God is a being of comfort and rest. In the hands of Christ, in His hands so full of His healing and wholeness, you can find His comfort and rest. Even the smallest effort at reaching out to Christ can help you. Even the smallest desire to be His child brings His touch to your heart and life. Even the smallest prayer brings Him near. Even the smallest commitment endears Him to you. You can turn away from the cause of your discomfort and tiredness in the world. When you turn away from your discomfort and tiredness, there is someone you can turn to who will help you find comfort and restoration. His name is Jesus.

Cleanse Me

Psalm 51:7---Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

We must come and ask God to cleanse us in every part of our being. Many people forget that even their memory is tainted by its intimate connection with the old self. All manner of sin has been brought into the sanctuary of the mind. Our memory needs to be cleansed. Have you ever asked God to cleanse your memory from all of the evil stored there? Our affections need to be cleansed and purified. Our will need to be cleansed. We need to realize that only through the blood of Christ is there cleansing for sin. “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” If we are going to come into the presence of God and expect Him to hear and answer our prayers, we dare not come into His presence tainted with our sins.“ Cleanse me, O God!” That means, of course, that we are going to confess our sins and repent of them as well as ask to be cleansed from them. Daily cleansing necessary.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope ✝️ Christ The Giver Of Strength

Christ Is Faithful and Holds Your Hopes and Dreams

Hebrews 2:8-9---Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Your life may not seem like it now, but Jesus is such a faithful friend He holds all your godly hopes and dreams in His heart.  He wants all your hopes and dreams to come true within His will and His love. Even when your hopes and dreams are not godly, Jesus stands by you and will never back away. In every circumstance, He wants to become connected with you. In every pain, in every hurt, in every adversity separating you from Him, Christ stands next to you and reaches out His hand to you. Christ emptied Himself on the Cross for you. Now He seeks an eternal connection to your heart and life. In your relationship with Him, Jesus does not have any selfish interest. Jesus wants only what is very best for you. Christ has committed to you He will never break. Christ gave His life for you. Christ will stay close to you all of your days. Christ is your faithful friend. Will you be a faithful friend to Him?

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17---Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.

In the depths of our disappointment and depression, when we are crushed and have given up any chance of victory, Christ beams His light into our life. In His light we find encouragement. Christ brings us a spiritual lift encouraging us to persevere and keep going against all odds. Christ and His marvelous Light rescue us out of the depths of our despair. In this world, there are many ways to fail. In this world, we need encouragement daily to walk Christ's walk of faith. In Christ, we have a friend who will not disappoint us or find fault with us. In Christ, we have an ever-present being shining His power into our hearts and lives. Christ forgives us when we have fallen short of His mark. Christ uplifts us and pulls us out of our dark circumstances. Christ calls upon us and encourages us to keep trying. When we want to give up, Christ's encouraging light of love prods us never to give up or give in.

Choose To Spend Time With Christ

Luke 10:38-43---Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Some people would feel they are living a diminished life if they did not live an over-committed life. Constantly living like you are putting out "brush fires" is a lifestyle hurtful to you in a major way. This kind of lifestyle becomes a dependent/co-dependent lifestyle when over-committing is done from a sense of weakness or powerlessness. Even when weakness and powerlessness are not issues, some people lead a "too busy" life. Piling up commitments in our life to the point where we run ourselves ragged is not helpful to us, to others, and is not a blessing to God. To healthfully maintain our soul, we are to live in peace and harmony with God. Over-committing is not a way to live in peace and harmony with God. Having more things on our agenda than we can possibly do also takes away from our efficiency because we can easily miss doing what is important.

Bringing People Together

Although the world is in great anguish over conflicting theologies and systems of religious belief, God decided to bring some of His people together by sending Christ into the world. What is truly amazing is the way God has brought people together. God has brought people together by sending a baby, His only Son, into the world. God had unlimited options about how to bring His Son into the world as well as unlimited options about how He could bring people together. Although we take it for granted, amazingly, God chose to have His Son appear to us in the form of a newborn child. Over the last two thousand years, millions upon millions of people have been brought together to worship, rejoice, and celebrate the birth of Christ because God chose to bring people together in this amazing way.

Why Will Ye Die?

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope ✝️ Blessings In Our Trials

Beyond The Last Moment

Before Jesus came to earth, humanity could not see past death. In many ways, we still cannot see past death. We get reports about the after-life. We hear people recount their near-death experiences or NDE’s, but we still know very little about what we will experience beyond our last breath. We have no power over death. We cannot change it. It happens to everyone. Death is the great leveler of humanity. Every human will face an end. If we look at death only in a secular way, death is a tragedy for the person who dies as well as for friends and loved ones of the deceased. However, as a Christian, you can see beyond death. As a Christian, you can see glory beyond the last moment of this life.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope ✝️ Being The Salt Of The Earth 🌎

Believing Without a Sign

John 4:48---Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

John 20:25-28The other disciples therefore said unto him, we have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

A sign is regarded as a display of power. A sign is a show of some kind of force. Many people today, just like two thousand years ago, will not believe Jesus is Lord of all creation without a display of power. However, you do not need to see a sign or a show to believe in God. To find the sure evidence of Christ's love for you, all you need to do is dig in, dig down, and go deep into your heart to find Him. Your faith should be based upon the truth from the Bible rather than upon a sign. If you must have a sign or an amazing wondrous show of power to believe in Christ then you are vulnerable to being deceived by the great deceiver. In your life, your faith in Christ Jesus moves mountains. Remember, your own pure and simple faith, based upon His holy love flowing into your heart, creates miracles.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope ✝️ Be An Encouragement

BEING HONEST WITH OURSELVES

Ephesians 6:13 --- Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

To face a fear you must trust the Holy Spirit to guide you. Instead of holding fear in your heart, you can exchange the fear for the armor of God. God provides you with armor because he knows you must wage war against the darkness at every turn. When you need courage, you are to pray deeply for the Lord’s almighty arm to give you strength and the ability to act despite your fears. Being honest with yourself often requires enormous courage. There are often many kinds of things about yourself you do not want to face or to admit. In this instance, Satan uses your fear against you. Being honest with yourself breaks you free of the bondage Satan puts on you. To face a fear you must try to have a rational idea as to what it is you fear. Then with a prayer in your heart reaching up to Christ, you must ask Christ to place a picture in your mind of what your life will be like after you overcome the enemy that makes you shake and tremble.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope ✝️

Filled and Blessed

Psalm 65:4---Blessed is the man whom thou choosest and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

We are blessed and filled to overflowing if we remember His friendship. If we live obediently according to His commands, God blesses our life. Even if we live in dark days and it seems the dark times will never end in our life, there are still benefits and blessings to living out an obedient life. When we do not live according to His ways, we have trouble, problems, heartaches, and pain. However, when we admit God’s wisdom is within our hearts, and we admit His wonderful truth is really in us, we are then compelled to live like God wants us to live. When we live like God wants us to live then we are soaked to the skin in His showers of blessings. Our life is then filled to overflowing with His joy, His love, and His peace.

Your Witness

Acts 22:15---For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.

Some way, somehow, every moment, you can show God's love to others. You may have many burdens to carry in your life, but you can be a greater witness for Christ in spite of your burdens. Although you have burdens, those around you and so many other persons in the world have even greater burdens than you. An open heart for Christ is heartbreaking for all the people of the world who are burdened down. Every hour you can seek God's power to help you become a greater witness to others. Pray daily for God to give you His power to help you carry the burdens of others. With the Lord's help, you can show others how every trial is a time when His love can beam out the most. In your heart, earnestly desire for His love and grace to pour down upon all people. In your heart, earnestly desire for the touch of the Holy Spirit to descend upon all people. In your heart, earnestly desire for all people to be led by the Holy Spirit's touch of love. Use all your energy to walk the straight and narrow path during your times of burden so others may see Christ's light shining out from your life. Use every part of your life, especially the trials, to more fully glorify His name.

One of the best ways of being sure we bear one another's burdens is to always be unselfish enough and concerned enough about others to carry their burdens. A selfish person does not carry the burdens of others unless made to do so. An unselfish person always looks out for others. An unselfish person always seeks out the burdens others are carrying. An unselfish person can put others first. The act of unselfish giving and receiving assures mutual burden-bearing. To bear another person's burden we must be willing to unselfishly give and receive love, caring, kindness, and compassion. To bear another person's burden we must be willing to unselfishly help others carry their load in life as well as be willing to let others help us carry our load. To bear another person's burden we must be willing to listen to the problems, cares, and worries of others. To bear another person's burden we must be willing to ask others if there is anything we can do after we have listened. To bear another person's burden we must be willing to give 110% of our efforts in helping others. When we bear another person's burden we must be aware others become stronger when we help them become stronger. When we bear another's burden we must remember others become weaker when we prevent them from shouldering the burdens and responsibilities we all must carry. Helping another person carry their burden is a great deal different than carrying another person's burden for them. In helping another person carry their burdens we must recognize there are some burdens each of us must carry on our own. Persons of every age learn maturity and responsibility when they carry their burdens, not when others carry burdens for them. Persons of every age become strong enough to bear the burdens of others by first learning to be unselfish.

Coffee ☕️ And Conversation A Ray Of Hope ✝️

Angels Among Us

Hebrews 13:2---Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

I was walking home from school on a cold winter day. Took a shortcut through the woods and lost my way. It was getting late and I was scared and alone, but then a kind old man took my hand and led me home. Now, Momma could not see him, oh but he was standing there and I knew in my heart he was the answer to my prayers. Oh, I believe there are angels among us sent down to us from somewhere up above. They come to you and me in our darkest hours to show us how to live, to teach us how to give, to guide us with the light of love. When life held trouble times and had me down on my knees, there’s always been someone come along and comfort me, a kind word from a stranger to lend a helping hand, a phone call from a friend just to say I understand. Isn’t it kind of funny at the dark end of the road that someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope? Oh, I believe there are angels among us sent down to us from somewhere up above. They come to you and me in our darkest hours to show us how to live, to teach us how to give, to guide us with the light of love. There where so many faces, show up in the strangest places, to grace us with their mercy in our time of need. Oh, I believe there are angels among us sent down to us from somewhere up above. They come to you and me in our darkest hours, to show us how to live, to teach us to give, to guide us with the light of love. To guide us with the light of love!
