Acts 23:6--- But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.
Paul was on trial before the
Sanhedrin and he was testifying on his own behalf. He was testifying about his
hope when our bodies die, we have a chance to spiritually live forever. Hope is
such a wonderful fuel for the soul. Hope is the fuel enlivening our
imaginations and stirring our hearts. Hope motivates us and gives us visions.
This hope in Christ gives us the courage to risk our life with calm, inspired
hearts and a vision of heaven and eternity. Too many of us look at our life and
see a time when we will die, yet our hope in Christ should give us a vision
into the future of our life which has no end with Christ. Our hope in Christ
gives us a vision of eternal glory with no end. Instead of death, we look
forward to our day of glorious transformation.
