Being Despitefully Used

Matthew 5:44---But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Jesus was never critical of even the vilest sinner but loved them despite themselves. The only group that he constructively criticized was the religious crowd that thought they could do no wrong. The religious crowd hated him for exposing them for what they were and actually were used by God to cause His crucifixion. While times have changed the religious crowd, they still crucify people by destroying them with their tongues and throwing stones. I am so thankful that God is still in control and knows us all for who we are. Even on the cross, our Lord prayed for those who despitefully used Him, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." Remember, we too are to be like our Lord. So pray for those you feel like are using you.
