Proverbs 27:1---“Boast
not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.”
J. L. Ralston said: "Our most dangerous
enemy on this side of the Atlantic is the idea that we have plenty of
time."
This is
equally true in the matter of preparedness for eternity—as well as for our
country!
Because we don’t
know when we may lose the use of our faculties because we have no lease of our
lives, because we don’t know not when the Lord Jesus will come again, and
because the Word commands it, we should act NOW.
After
serving the Lord for more than 35 years as a pastor I suppose the greatest
excuse I’ve ever encountered is, “I’ll be saved one day.”
Many I heard
who made that statement to me is now absent from their body and gone.
As far as I
know one day never came for some of them, they departed this life without
giving their heart to the Lord.
Our text
says Boast not of tomorrow, and I’ve said throughout my ministry that tomorrow
never comes for when it gets here it’s today.
The Bible
says, “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I
have helped you.”
Behold, now
is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2nd
Corinthians 6:2)
Today, Now
is the day of salvation, tomorrow will be too late, one day will be too late.
NOW is the
Time!
Choose This
Day Who You Will Serve!
Jesus’
Invitation has never changed it is still Come unto Me.
